T.CON at the 2013 HANOVER TRADE FAIR: MES, Mobile Analytics, maintenance and warehouse management under SAP ERP

Plattling, March 19, 2013

SAP system house T.CON GmbH & Co. KG will be presenting its consulting, solution and service portfolio for the manufacturing industry at the HANOVER TRADE FAIR (April 8th – 12th, 2013) as part of the main "Digital Factory" theme in Hall 7 at Stand A05. With the motto "On the pulse of production, always and everywhere", the gold-status SAP Channel Partner will be focusing on issues currently facing manufacturing companies: vertical real-time integration between the shop floor and the world of ERP, mobile analyses of data and key performance indicators from production and the development of IT-supported maintenance and warehousing processes.

T.CON offers the right IT solutions for precisely these issues with the "powered by SAP NetWeaver"-certified "MES CAT Suite" (which is fully integrated in SAP ERP) and with the "MES CAT Mobile Analytics" mobile app. SAP-based mobile add-on solutions "Mobile Maintenance Management (MMM)" for maintenance and "Mobile Warehouse Management (MWM)" for warehouse management also come into play here. "Our solution and consultancy offerings make it easier for companies in the manufacturing industry to develop continuous, automated and cost-optimized process chains, which results in more efficient, more flexible and faster operating procedures," explained Karl Fuchs, CEO of T.CON GmbH & Co. KG.

Manufacturing companies which use SAP ERP can seamlessly integrate real-time data and key performance indicators from production halls into the information flow of the ERP solution by introducing the adaptable and operator-friendly "MES CAT Suite". The MES solution records data and key performance indicators from systems close to production fully automatically at the time it is generated and transfers it to the SAP software, where it is immediately processed and registered. This increases productivity, as machines, systems and personnel are optimally utilized – downtime, conversion time and processing time are reduced. For direct and reliable acquisition and integration of source data from machine control or laboratory systems into the MES CAT Suite, T.CON experts use the SAP Plant Connectivity (PCo) component and the SAP Manufacturing Integration and Intelligence (SAP MII) application, among other things.

Conversely, released SAP production orders are immediately available in the MES solution and thus also for processing in the factory halls. This enables efficient control of production and also enables adjustments to be made quickly after changes occur in the market. The MES solution also provides machine operators and workmen with user-friendly and industry-suitable user interfaces with which they can complete their daily tasks quickly and efficiently. Last but not least, the offline capability allows continuous availability of the manufacturing systems. With the "T.CON All-In-One Roll", the SAP system provider also offers a pre-configured and rapidly deployable industry package based on SAP ERP and the "MES CAT Suite" geared specifically toward companies which manufacture and process rolls and formats of different materials.

With "MES CAT Mobile Analytics", T.CON is for the first time also providing a newly developed mobile application for the Apple iPad which enables the management and factory managers to get a detailed assessment of production data and key performance indicators, anytime and anywhere. This application makes it possible to identify the causes of an increase in rejects or bottlenecks in the manufacturing process early on and to initiate countermeasures right away. "MES CAT Mobile Analytics" includes predefined reports, for example on the yield and reject quantities and on downtimes. Customers can also design customized reports as required. The mobile application is based on the technology of the MES CAT analytics module; it accesses data records from an SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse in which information relevant to production was saved and prepared beforehand.

The mobile applications for MMM and MWM, which communicate seamlessly with SAP ERP, enable continuous maintenance and warehouse management processes and improve data quality. With the MMM solution, maintenance technicians transfer their feedback or fault messages directly on the spot to the ERP back-end using a mobile device. Conversely, they can call up information from the SAP system which is relevant to their work, such as master data, recent messages and work instructions. The MWM application increases transparency and efficiency in warehouse logistics. With it, incoming materials, stock relocations and commissioning and packing processes can be recorded conveniently online. The data is transferred automatically to the SAP back-end via W-LAN and registered there immediately. Both solutions can be installed on a PDA, smartphone or tablet computer as desired.
