Perlen Packaging produces PVC mono films and specially coated PVdC barrier and high barrier films for the pharmaceutical industry. The company has designed its processes, equipment, products and environment to meet the requirements of this industry.
In the production of such quantities of high-quality packaging film, considerable cost savings can be achieved by optimizing the waste. This is made possible by T.CON's TRIM SUITE, an SAP-based add-on. By implementing this tool, Perlen Packaging has taken an important step towards process integration and optimization.
The TRIM SUITE not only convinced the jury with its powerful functions for cutting planning and its ease of use. Another advantage is its seamless embedding in SAP S/4HANA and T.CON's MES CAT.
Perlen Packaging currently benefits from the optimized cutting planning with the TRIM SUITE on ten machines at its five production sites. The cutting plan, which is created after production and block planning and before production orders are released, trims customer orders in such a way that the production range of the film production lines is used much more efficiently than before.
As a result, technical waste, which must be recycled or even completely destroyed in some cases, has been reduced from three to two percent. This one percent reduction in waste alone results in considerable savings in material consumption. The company thus saves on material costs.
